Animals can also take part in psychological support therapies by incorporating them into addiction treatment. In general, dogs are usually the ones chosen, confirming the saying that a dog is man\u2019s best friend.  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The aim, as always, is to improve patients\u2019 wellbeing and health as they go through challenging processes. There are many benefits to interacting with animals, and the relationship can also become a valuable bridge of communication between the patient and their therapist. <\/p>\n<p>The goals of the therapeutic intervention are varied and focus on the patient\u2019s progress in certain areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased self-esteem<\/li>\n<li>Improved autonomy<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Recovery\/strengthening of physical and social skills<\/li>\n<li>Relief from the effects of anxiety and depression<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging a sense of responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Creating a positive bond<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Collaboration with Proyecto Tan Amigos<\/h3>\n<p>These are, among others, the benefits of treating addictions and addictive behaviours with dogs. <a href=\"https:\/\/ccadicciones.es\/en\/contact\/\">CC Adicciones<\/a> has incorporated this form of therapy by collaborating with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fNp7JVmX54Y\">Proyecto Tan Amigos<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In this way, we deepen our patients\u2019 motivation by helping them to relate in a friendly environment where they can feel comfortable.
