The Ministry of Health aims to negotiate a new law starting this January.  <!--more-->To prevent such consumption among underage youth, following the failed attempts of the last three legislative terms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The situation in Spain demands action in response to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0081dc;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0081dc; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/ccadicciones.es\/en\/nearly-35-of-14-year-olds-engage-in-binge-drinking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">worrying figures<\/a><\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>One in seven young people aged 14 to 18 started drinking<\/li>\n<li>The average age of initiation is 13.9 years<\/li>\n<li>5,000 minors treated for alcohol poisoning<\/li>\n<li>In November, a 12-year-old girl died of alcohol poisoning in Madrid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&#8220;We have 24-year-olds whose CT scans show brain deterioration similar to that of an Alzheimer&#8217;s patient, but they are not aware of it.&#8221;<\/strong> These are the words of neuropsychiatrist Javier Aizpiri, quoted in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0081dc;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0081dc; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/politica.elpais.com\/politica\/2016\/12\/02\/actualidad\/1480678971_646185.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this interesting article from El Pa\u00eds<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For experts, measures must focus on prevention and education.
