NATIONAL BENCHMARK PROGRAM IN TRAINING THERAPISTS IN ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS (I)
Starting on October 12, 2018, the Master’s in Addictive Behaviors and Personal Transformation will begin to be delivered by the Institute of Addiction Studies (IDEA), at the CC Adicciones center (Roda de Berá). The Master’s is a national benchmark program in training therapists in addictive behaviors.
We quote from the Master’s presentation:
“In recent years, the problem of addictions has reached epidemic levels in our society. This has generated a growing demand for professionals specialized in addictive behaviors, who are able to meet the care needs of these individuals and their close environment, which also suffers the consequences of the illness. Therefore, comprehensive training in addictive behaviors is necessary, to respond to this new issue and to cover not only the treatment and care resources for dependence, but also the factors involved in the onset and maintenance of addictions and the most effective prevention programs, in order to transform the people who suffer from it. If, in your work or daily life, you deal with people with addiction or at risk of developing it, this is your Master’s.”
MASTER’S OBJECTIVES
The Master’s in Addictive Behaviors and Personal Transformation aims to train all those professionals and/or therapists in the field of addictive behaviors to practice their profession, both in prevention and in the approach to and treatment of addictions, as well as the necessary personal changes.
The main objective of this course is to provide its students with the necessary training, and the appropriate framework to facilitate the practice of the psychotherapeutic approach to addictions, including care for people with dependence, their families and environment, as well as people at risk of developing any addictive behavior.”
