by CC Adicciones

We discuss 4 of the 35 new drugs reported by SEAT in Spain and their health effects.

The Spanish Early Warning System (SEAT) has issued an alert regarding the emergence of 35 new drugs in Spain and their serious health effects. According to the latest Report on Alcohol, Tobacco, and Illegal Drugs in Spain, easy access through the Internet has multiplied the influence of these new drugs.

Below, we share 4 of these 35 new drugs reported by SEAT:

1. “Tucibi” or Pink Cocaine:

This is a rapidly absorbed hallucinogen, consumed orally. It is pink in color and highly addictive. It causes agitation, sensory and motor distortion, and hallucinations. Prolonged use could lead to depression, anxiety, insomnia, and, in extreme cases, death.

2. “Cactus Food” or Mephedrone:

Classified as a designer drug, it is sold as a narcotic, but can be found as plant fertilizer or fragrance for cleaning products. It causes increased sweating and excitement. It is banned in almost all European Union countries.

3. Spice:

Similar to marijuana, it contains acetone and damiana. It is sold in colorful packages. It can cause spasms and psychotic episodes.

4. “Flakka” or Alpha-PVP:

The main danger is that the duration of its effects is very brief and those who consume it tend to repeat the dose in very short intervals. It produces hallucinations, disorientation, hyperactivation, and severe arrhythmias, which can lead to cardiac collapse.
