CC Adicciones in the “Happiness pills” report on La Sexta’s Equipo de Investigación programme.
Data show that one in five Spaniards take sleeping pills. This makes the country Europe’s leading consumer of psychotropic drugs. Therefore, to analyse this issue, last Friday, November 4, Equipo de Investigación on La Sexta aired the report Happiness pills, in which CC Adicciones had a prominent appearance.
The programme’s reporters visited our detox centre in Roda de Berà (Tarragona) to interview our director, Francisco Prados. They spoke on the centre’s terrace with a group of patients addicted to psychotropic drugs who are in therapy to stop taking them. One of them is Esther, who, despite having been substance-free for four years, still attends treatment every week: “I used to take the pills like sweets. I could take 25 or 30 a day”.
