Spain is in a worrying situation when it comes to alcohol consumption.
Revealed by the Global Drug Survey 2016 (Global Drug Suvey). It aims to understand drug use habits and identify trends. Interviewing more than 100,000 people from 50 countries worldwide, more than 2,500 in Spain.
According to what we have read in Público, more than half (52%) of respondents admitted to having consumed alcohol over the last year. And this can be considered “problematic”by the World Health Organization. This classification is obtained by answering a ten-question questionnaire called Audit, developed by the WHO itself.
As most drug surveys show, alcohol is the substance consumed by the most people, as well as being one of those that causes the most problems among consumers and families. The most consumed drink both at home and when going out is beer.
After alcohol, the ranking of the substances most consumed by respondents continues with cannabis, tobacco and energy drinks. A significant proportion of those surveyed also said they had taken MDMA, cocaine and amphetamine, the three substances most consumed especially in leisure settings.
